The LokSound by ESU RailCom Transmitter Unit allows the use of RailCom location detection when used with a non-RailCom capable decoder. This small transmitter is installed in addition to the locomotive decoder and is simply soldered to the wheel pickups. Of course, the module supports two and four-digit addresses.

With an ESU ECoS command station you can employ RailCom also in conjunction with (older or more recent) Marklin mfx decoders: the ECoS will be able to generate the connection between the RailCom transmitter module and the locomotive decoder. The unit measures about 7/16 x 11/32″11 x 9mm. The RailCom Transmitter Unit is part of the broad assortment of ESU DCC accessories.
