Description

This Kato EMD SDP40F Type 1 diesel is based on the first new passenger diesels purchased by Amtrak in 1973. Features of the SDP40F include a five-pole motor with dual flywheels, all-wheel electrical pickup, heavy die cast metal chassis, a factory-installed TCS DCC decoder, fine decoration, directional LED headlights and Kato magnetic knuckle couplers. SDP40F locomotives will be at home on the head end of your railroad’s Amtrak passenger runs.
