This Kato N Scale EMD SD70ACe with Nose Headlight is based on the 2000s EMD 70-series locomotives, an evolution of the SD70MAC, although its radiator design harkens more to that of the SD80-90 body. The SD70ACe has been designed to fit 2000s-era EPA standards and regulations, and sports 4300 horsepower – perfect for handling fast intermodal trains or heavy drag freights. Features of this locomotive include a detailed, injection-molded body, five-pole motor with dual flywheels, all-driver electrical pickup, heavy die cast metal chassis, a lighting control board that can be swapped for a DCC decoder when you’re ready (available separately), fine decoration, directional LED headlights and Kato magnetic knuckle couplers.
