Description
The 3000 horsepower SD40 was one of EMD’s most popular locos ever produced. Starting in 1966, more than 1200 units would eventually be sold and used in North America, and a large number are still being used today. The models feature a powerful five-pole motor with dual brass flywheels, factory installed DCC socket, Kato semi-automatic knuckle couplers, working headlight, printed numberboards, MU hoses and more.
